Abstract

Introduction: The Hall technique (HT) consists of cementing a preformed corona on a primary molar affected by caries without local anesthesia, eliminating the carious lesion, or preparing the tooth. It is a less invasive procedure based on the concept that the caries lesion under the crown, is stopped due to the sealing of the oral cavity. Advantages of HT include greater relative success than conventional preformed metal crowns and wide acceptance by children and parents. Clinical case: The case of a 4-year-old boy who comes to the consultation for caries, which is challenging to manage, is presented. Diagnosis: deep dentin caries ICDAS 4. It is decided as to the treatment to carry out HT and control every 6 months. A 6-month clinical first control presents the health of adjacent tissues. At the control of 4 years post cementation, this more accentuated resorption is observed, but without clinical signs and conserving the longitude of the arch and a good attitude of the patient towards the treatment. Conclusion: The use of HT has excellent benefits for the control of extensive caries in pediatric patients, causing no trauma, no pain, and no change in the bite of children.
