Odontological community attention for boys, girls and teenagers diagnosed autism spectral disorder, Recoleta.

Introduction: Autism spectral disorder (ASD) are a group of alterations of the development that affect communication and social interaction, due the lack of flexibility in the rational thinking and behavior of the person. Kids and teenagers (BGT) diagnosed with ASD, does not show any specific alteration in their oral area, however, they present more oral pathologies because of their condition and this is determinant in the oral health care. In Recoleta,, the popular rehab center (CREP) is created with the objective to get an easier, quick and quality access into the integral rehab for kids and teenagers (BGT) with disabilities and includes odontological attention for the community (AOC), that leads into reduction in the barrier of access related to capacity of the odontological team and the times required in attention. Objective: Give dental attention to BGT in the CREP and diminish the damage and prevalence of cavities and periodontal illness. Method: Sociographic analysis and telemedicine contact with 26 BGT with ASD. The appointments were made afterwards. Sessions for adaptation with sensory battery are made and definition of the treatment plan. Results: Instructions of oral hygiene and sensory battery sessions were made to the 100% of the BGT, and the 85% of them were examined. Secondary prevention were made to the 73% while the 27% were given minimum invasive atraumatic attention and the 11,5% with conventional odontological attention. Conclusion: The AOC strategy to BGT with ASD has contributed to improve the access and opportunities of attention considered the individual requirements.
