Abstract

Objective: Document and perform the rehabilitation of developmental defects of enamel with minimally invasive techniques and the use of biomaterials in a patient with chronic kidney disease. Case presentation: Female patient, 10 years and 2 months old with diagnoses of chronic kidney disease Stage IV due to a basic diagnosis of congenital chlorhydrorrhea. Intraoral examination shows mixed dentition according to age with generalized enamel hypoplasia as a sequel to metabolic involvement in stages of development of the dental organs, radiographic evaluation shows radiolucent areas at the level of enamel in multiple dental organs typical of dental defects enamel. The treatment plan was carried out based on 4D Caries Management, establishing a preventive and restorative plan based on the specific needs of the patient, both medical and dental. Injected giomer veneers were made in upper and lower incisors, as well as infiltrative resins in canines and premolars, all this, under the philosophy of minimally invasive dentistry in a patient with special medical conditions. Conclusions: This case allowed us to approach the patient in a comprehensive manner, considering the use of biomaterials as a viable treatment option in patients with chronic kidney disease who present multiple affectations in the enamel structure. Obtaining positive results that immediately impacted the patient's quality of life.
