Abstract

ntroduction: Caries is a dynamic, non-communicable, multifactorial disease, mediated by biofilms, modulated by diet, which produces a net loss of minerals from hard dental tissues. Objective: To provide care through the philosophy of Minimum Intervention in Pediatric Dentistry in two 5-year-old girls with CITS and to know the sequelae. Presentation of the case. Identity card, 2 female girls of 6 years of age with Presence of Early Childhood Caries. Diagnosis: C. 1. Early childhood caries in the first case in 16 permanent teeth, pulp polyp in tooth No. 64. Fibroma of the right upper lip due to a fall. C.2. Early childhood caries in 8 teeth following the ICDAS criteria. Implemented treatments: Case 1. Caries arrest through a 1,500 ppm paste, brushing technique, crowns, resins, glass ionomer, extractions, space maintainer. Case 2. Minimal intervention philosophy. Glass ionomer, resins, sealants, and chrome-steel and celluloid crowns. Discussion: Due to the frequent consumption of carbohydrates, especially sugars, inadequate or non-existent oral hygiene in young children, ECC shows an atypical pattern of caries attack, particularly on the smooth surfaces of the maxillary anterior teeth [Machiulskiene et al. 2020]. as in these two cases. Conclusion: It is necessary to instruct the child in self-care of his oral health, in addition to indicating preventive measures to the mother so that he monitors and supervises the oral and nutritional hygiene of the girls.
