Abstract

Introduction: Mesial ectopic eruption (MEE) of the first permanent molar and dentigerous cysts associated with impacted canines are pediatric dental anomalies that require early and multidisciplinary intervention. Case Report: An 8-year-old patient with Grade IV MEE in the upper molars and a dentigerous cyst linked to an impacted canine. The treatment included maxillary expansion and the use of a distalizing screw for molar 16, achieving a Class I molar relationship. Subsequently, surgical enucleation of the dentigerous cyst and orthodontic traction of canine 23 were performed. This combined approach allows for the successful resolution of both conditions, which is why this research aims to present and analyze the clinical-surgical and orthodontic management. Conclusions: The case highlights the importance of early diagnosis and an interdisciplinary approach in complex dental anomalies, integrating interceptive orthodontics and surgical techniques to preserve function and aesthetics.
