Keywords:
pediatric dentistry, digital dentistry, 3D scanning, digital workflowAbstract
Introduction: The integration of digital workflow in pediatric dentistry is transforming clinical care and specialist training. Technologies such as intraoral scanning, digital planning, and 3D printing enable more precise, personalized, and less invasive restorative treatments for pediatric patients. This transformation responds to factors such as the growing demand for modern care, the digitalization of patient communication, and the need to optimize clinical time without compromising quality.
Content: This presentation explores clinical applications of digital workflow, such as its use in esthetic restorations, support in planning complex clinical cases, and its role in strengthening evidence for certain treatments, such as the Hall Technique. It highlights the importance of these tools in advancing toward a more fluid and personalized approach to pediatric dentistry, while also addressing challenges in implementation, including the need for ongoing professional training, appropriate technology selection for each case, and cost-benefit evaluation in real clinical settings.
Conclusion: These new applications reveal both benefits and challenges in their implementation, demonstrating that their incorporation is not only feasible but essential for an updated, efficient, and patient-centered pediatric dentistry.
