Abstract

Currently, malocclusions are a significant concern due to their high prevalence, with 85% of the Latin American population being susceptible to some form of malocclusion, often beginning in childhood. Therefore, early treatment during the mixed and late primary dentition stages is essential to minimize the need for invasive procedures such as permanent tooth extractions or orthognathic surgery. Among the various dentofacial developmental disorders, anterior crossbite (ACB) is defined as a malocclusion in which the maxillary incisors and canines are positioned lingually in relation to their mandibular counterparts. Treatment options for ACB include functional orthopedic appliances, extraoral mechanical orthopedics, selective grinding, pediatric esthetic crowns, anterior inclined planes, among others. This case demonstrates the effectiveness of using an anterior inclined plane for dental anterior crossbite and its follow-up over a four-month period.
