Complex dentoalveolar trauma in pediatric patient: Case report

Introduction: Dental trauma in children frequently occurs in multiple forms , requiring individualized treatment. The worldwide prevalence in children under 7 years of age varies between 8% and 30% with the youngest boys being the most affected The success of the treatment depends on immediate attention , the cooperation of the patient and other factors .Objective: To present the case of three young permanent teeth extruded with fracture of alveolar process and lesions of soft tissue . Case Report: a male patient , 6 years old , was treated at the department of post-Graduation in pediatric dentistry of the Faculty of dentistry of UCV after a bicycle tide, at 14 days after the accident. The clinical examination reveal extrusion of two teeth 31,41 and 21 grade IV mobility and a mobile anterior mandibular segment .He also presents labial contusion , laceration of the upper frenulum and subnasal abrasion .Radiographic evidence of loss of continuity of the lamina dura and malpositioned teeth was observed . Tooth repositioning , alveolar fracture reduction , and splinting using a wire-resin technique were performed. Antibiotics, chlorhexidine mouthwash , and follow-up care were prescribed.Conclusions : dental preservation after polytrauma represents a clinical challenge , but timely treatment , based on updated protocols and family collaboration , is essential for success.
